Banner for Nova Sect
The Nova Sect is enemy faction in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden.
Their cult logo interestingly is very similar to radiation warning logos (as shown in banner to the right) . They are seen primarily mainly based to the south of the Ark (Cultlands , Spear of Heaven and World Ender)
This factions is formed when Plutonia and her followers breakoff from Dr.Ingmar Edison convoy many years ago as the hardship in the Zone convinces her that the Zone needed a reset. She knows the existence of old MIMIR defence network nuclear missile by ordering to probe the mind of Dr.Ingmar .
The Zone's rot affected both the minds and bodies of the Nova Sect members and has been both blessed and cursed them. While their bodies have started to shown signs of decay due to the rot, they have developed special psionic 'gifts' that enhance their abilities in combat. Some of the abilities are lightning attack , telekinesis shield and some of their enhanced telepathic ability enables them to control minds.
The Ghouls in the zone believes the Nova Sect are a dedicated group of psionic mutants who are trying to 'cleanse the world of evil'. They follow and work as slave for the Sect, believing the promises made to them by the leader.
The Elder describes them as a "psychotic death cult who are trying to destroy the Ark and anyone in it.". Based on the Elder conversation, it seems that there are attempts to sway The Elder or the inhabitants of the Ark to join their cult in the past. But, fortunately they have failed so far. As the game progresses, we will learnt that Nova Sect are aiming to use the nuclear missile to launch it to the Ark effectively cleansing the Zone.

In-Game Description[]
Delta mentioned about Nova Sect:Ghouls are one thing, but the Nova Sect are on a whole other level. They're some strange cult that promises the ghouls eternal whatever, as long as they working their slaves. They say they hear the voices of the Ancients. Maybe they do. Years of breathing that Zone air gave the Nova Sect telepathic powers. At least that's what I heard.
