Ghoul Pyros are enemies that throw molotov's toward the Stalker, making them a dangerous AoE and debuff enemy to face in combat.

Armament & Tactics[]
Pyros are outfitted exclusively with the molotov-type grenade, which they throw with reckless abandon toward any Stalker they see. As with all grenades, molotov's deal an AoE attack and not only have a good chance of hitting every Stalker (and Ghoul!) within its blast radius. Targets will take a bit of initial damage, but then take additional small amounts of damage over time. Those set on fire also have a 25% additional chance of being hit by other weapons, making the Pyro both a dangerous mid-range foe, but also capable of giving Stalkers a dangerous debuff to boot,
When killed, Pyros will explode in flames, dealing damage to any enemy or Stalker around them. This can also happen if they are successfully hit by an attack when they have a molotov out. Unfortunately, Pyros are immune to fire, which makes their own weapons useless against them.
Pyros lack a melee attack, but due to their death explosion, this makes it highly dangerous to get into melee combat with the Ghoul. The best way to take out a Pyro is to use longer-range weapons such as the Slinger or State Switcher. Pistols (such as the Needle Pistol or Ancient Pistol are a good second bet, but Shotguns are risky, due to their effective range being within the foe's throwing range. The Gaper is also a viable option due to its knockdown effect which will all but guarantee an explosion if the Pyro has a molotov out already.
Appearance[]
Pyro Ghouls are outfitted with heavy clothing, to protect themselves somewhat from their fiery attack, which consists of a pair of old fireman's gloves and a matching jacket. Their lower legs are protected by scrap metal shinguards, and they wear a ratty hood/face mask combination. Their clothing is heavily damaged and 'repaired' through lots of duct tape, and cloth patches.
Trivia[]
Heard you ran into some Pyro Ghouls last run? Watch out for them. They got a love affair with firebombs, dripping that stuff all over their faces. Stupid as shit Spark a Pyro Ghoul in the right way and you see 'em spontaneously combust. Boom. Good times. -Delta talking to the Stalkers, giving them a hint about their weakness.
- Ghoul Pyros are similar to the Nitro Splicer class of enemies from Bioshock, due to their singular (but deadly) attack of lobbing grenades at the Stalker. Like Nitros, Pyro Ghouls also explode on death, although while Nitro Splicers do this on purpose, for Pyros, this is likely an unintended accident on their part.
